Summary:
The Chief Inspector oversees compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and repair station procedures for maintaining and inspecting aircraft, engines, and components.
This role focuses on quality assurance, inspection processes, and regulatory compliance within the FAA Part 145 Repair Station.
Ensure adherence to all FAA regulations under FAR Part 145, including maintenance standards and documentation.
Supervise inspections of maintenance activities to ensure conformity with specifications and airworthiness directives.
Maintain accurate records, logbooks, and documentation per FAA and company requirements.
Conduct audits to verify compliance with procedures, tools, and equipment standards.
Develop inspection procedures and quality control measures, promoting continuous improvement.
Train and oversee inspection staff, ensuring qualifications and certifications are maintained.
Act as the liaison with the FAA, addressing inspections, audits, and non-conformities.
Investigate defects or discrepancies in components and initiate corrective actions.
Make final decisions on the airworthiness of aircraft and components.
Implement safety programs to ensure all operations meet regulatory and safety standards.
Required Skills:
Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
5+ years in aircraft maintenance, with 2+ years in an inspector role (preferably in a Part 145 repair station).
Strong understanding of FAA regulations (FAR Part 145, 43, 45), aircraft systems, and inspection techniques.
Proficient in maintenance tracking systems, strong leadership, and attention to detail. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in confined spaces and varying conditions.
Experience with FAA audits and certifications; additional training in quality management and safety programs.
