Position Summary
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Dodge Construction Network will join a passionate and talented management team to provide strategic direction across the entire IT organization. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the CIO will understand how to design and implement a modern IT environment that will enable Dodge to accelerate its achievement of ambitious business objectives. The CIO will serve as a key partner to the executive team by driving digital transformation, innovation, and modernization. Ultimately, the CIO will be responsible for maturing Dodge's IT organization into a secure, scalable, and reliable technology and business data platform that will support the company's continued aggressive growth goals.
Preferred Location
- This is a remote, home-office based role and candidates located in the continental United States will be considered.
Essential Functions (Core Responsibilities)
IT Strategy
- Assess the technology organization's current people, processes, and technology systems to develop a short and long-range information technology roadmap.
- Identify and prioritize IT initiatives and projects that deliver the greatest value to the organization.
- Ensure effective governance, budgeting, and resource allocation for IT projects and initiatives.
- Take an active role within M&A activities to ensure the technology organizations are supported in a reliable, scalable and secure fashion. Participate as a member of the senior leadership team on technology M&A due diligence as needed.
- Actively collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership team on strategic opportunities for the company. Engage the Board where appropriate to outline technology investments for continued innovation and value creation.
Business Applications & Data
- Integrate a world class set of internal systems in place and implement a robust data strategy that enables efficient business operations, insights and improvements.
- Oversee the assessment, design, implementation, and maintenance of business applications including sales and marketing automation (eg, Salesforce / CPQ, Marketo), eCommerce, customer self-service, data analytics, customer service, HRIS, ERP (Netsuite) and other financial and operating systems.
- Evolve and execute a comprehensive data, analytics, and AI strategy aligned with the company's vision and objectives. Success will be driven by the business' ability to ingest, store, scale and move data to accurately depict company performance.
- Oversee the management and optimization of data lakes, warehouses, and other data stores, ensuring robust data quality and governance across all platforms.
Infrastructure & Security
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and storage systems.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of IT infrastructure to meet the organization's current and future needs.
- Implement and manage cloud computing strategies and solutions, as applicable.
- Utilize DevOps best practices including automated testing, CI/CD, decoupled architectures, and monitoring capabilities to dramatically accelerate time to market, while also improving quality, system reliability, availability, and security.
- Develop and implement comprehensive information security policies, procedures, and standards to protect the organization's data and information assets.
- Monitor and assess potential security risks and vulnerabilities and implement measures to mitigate them.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to information security.
- Lead the organization's cybersecurity efforts, including the development and implementation of cybersecurity programs, technologies, and controls.
- Coordinate incident response and management in the event of a cybersecurity breach or incident.
- Foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness and training among employees.
- Define and achieve metrics and milestones for IT, platform delivery and development, and security.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, retain and develop a world-class development, IT team, while managing key relationships with technology partners to extend the company's reach.
- Provide leadership, motivation and hands-on direction for the IT team; develop sustainable growth and succession plans for the organization across all levels; be a role model and mentor to the team.
- Instill a strong culture of excellence throughout the IT organization for development and deployment, testing, code quality, security, architecture review and strategic thinking.
Vendor and Third-Party Management
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with IT vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure quality, value, and compliance with contractual agreements.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors to optimize costs and service delivery.
- Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies that facilitate efficiency and competitive advantage.
Education Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Progressive technology leadership experience, including a successful track record of creating and implementing an IT Strategy.
- Strong knowledge of business applications including, CRM, ERP and eCommerce systems, with an understanding of data warehousing, business intelligence, and global integrations.
- Expertise in information security best practices in regulated industries, IT service delivery, and global IT operations.
- Proven proficiency in identifying business problems and designing, developing and implementing complex, large scale technology solutions.
- Proven experience in developing a vision, roadmap, and successful technology framework.
- Experience in rapidly expanding companies with highly acquisitive growth models strongly preferred.
- Exposure to businesses that operate complex, multi-site environments. Must know how to operate in a distributed model.
- Understanding of fundamental business and technology trends to help shape product roadmaps as well as areas for investment and acquisition.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts across various teams and translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to be an innovator, building strategic roadmaps that enable IT to be a partner with the business.
- Strong process management and operational skills.
- Proven experience and a track record of building teams and developing people. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a powerful network and the reputation to attract talent and inspire confidence in others while cultivating an environment where people choose to work.
- Ideally has managed in-house, outsource/off/onshore IT teams.
- High energy and action-oriented. A history of getting things done in complex, fast-paced environments; Self-starter mentality.

Salary Disclosure
Dodge Construction Network's compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, uncapped commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
