Job Description:
Primary Function: Responsible for the strategic direction, management, and execution of all information technology (IT) resources and initiatives; serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet; leads the IT department in supporting the institution’s mission of education, research, and community service by ensuring the effective use of technology across all academic and administrative functions; provides leadership to the IT units of the department, which include Administrative Information Systems, Client Services, Educational Technology and Media Services, Information Security, and Network & Infrastructure Services; responsible for the overall technology strategy, ensuring the alignment of IT initiatives with the university's mission and goals; collaborates with university leadership, faculty, and staff to identify and address technology needs and opportunities; develops and implements policies and procedures related to IT; leads, mentors, and manages the IT department, including budgeting, staffing, and performance evaluation; oversees IT projects from inception through completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery; and ensures the security, reliability, and compliance of IT systems, data, and infrastructure.
Required Qualifications: Master’s degree; at least 10 years of information technology experience; strategic planning, project management, and budget management experience; excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all stakeholder groups; and excellent organizational and leadership skills required.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in information technology, educational technology, computer science, business administration (MBA) or related field; and experience in a higher education environment preferred.
