Summary: Directs the organization’s financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions and the financial community, investors and partners by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.

Summary: Directs the organization’s financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions and the financial community, investors and partners by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
- Accounting Department Oversight: Direct the accounting department, manage the monthly close process, and prepare financial statements.
- Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis, including variances and KPI metrics.
- Budget and Forecasting: Create and update the annual budget and monthly financial forecasts.
- Audit and Tax Coordination: Coordinate the annual audit and quarterly/annual tax filings with an outside CPA firm. Assist with the conversion of accrual to cash basis financials for tax purposes and file state sales tax reports as required.
- Corporate Records Maintenance: Coordinate with outside corporate agents and manage annual registration requirements.
- Cash Management: Oversee cash management, review daily transactions and balances, and prepare weekly cash forecasts.
- ACH Payments: Submit ACH payments for vendors, recurring payables, and owner distributions.
- Banking Relationships: Act as the administrator for online banking portals, establish banking relationships, and manage project bank accounts.
- Payroll Processing: Coordinate semi-monthly payroll processing and, in conjunction with the HR Business Partner, select benefit programs.
- Client Invoicing: Review monthly client fee invoices and update the weekly accounts receivable schedule.
- Project and Corporate Accounting: Manage the project accountant and corporate accountant, overseeing tasks such as monthly project draws, payables, corporate receipts, employee time and expense reports, and client invoices.
- Insurance Program Management: Oversee the corporate property/liability insurance program and coordinate the annual renewal with outside brokers.
- Credit Card Management: Manage corporate credit card charges, payments, expense reconciliation, and recording into the ERP system.
- Office Financials: Review monthly office condominium association financials and coordinate with a third-party management company.
- Advisory Committee: Serve as a member of the Advisory Committee, attend weekly meetings, and provide suggestions and feedback on business strategies, objectives, and policies.
- Professional Growth: Maintain a positive learning environment and pursue professional growth individually and for direct reports
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or a related field; CPA license is required.
- Experience: 10+ years in accounting with at least 5 years in a management or Controller role.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools; experience with Sage Intaact and Nexonia time and expense platform is a plus. **
- Industry Experience: Experience in real estate development and/or professional services is preferred.
