We are looking for an experienced CFO to be the financial leader of our company and oversee the accounting and financial reporting functions. This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day functions while providing insightful solutions and analysis to keep the company operating at a high level. This ambitious, proactive leader will be responsible for maintaining the Company's finances, managing a department, and collaborating with executives to integrate innovative strategies to the company that will promote our future growth.
Job Description
- Lead and manage all accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger.
- Implement strategies to enhance policies, procedures, accounting principles, and internal controls.
- Participate in the development of short and long-term company financial profit and growth objectives.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to establish and achieve growth targets.
- Provide the executive team with data-driven insights to inform decision-making and operational improvements.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Monitor cash flow, profitability, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Monitor daily cash balances, balance sheet, and credit reports.
- Oversee prevailing wage reporting, compliance, and facilitation.
- Analyze WIP schedule and utilize it as a tool for financial forecasting, health, and proactive decision-making.
- Monitor the collections process and develop processes to enhance timely payment and consistent revenue.
- Inspect project financial success, expense management, and potential software enhancement.
- Analyze financial reporting monthly, quarterly, and annually, and discuss with leadership.
- Generate governmental reporting (OSHA logs, union reporting, EE01, taxes, etc.).
- Work closely with CPA’s to develop tax strategies, business practices, and financial reporting.
- Monitor health insurance, workers compensation insurance, and supplemental payments and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax laws and construction industry regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, CPA’s, lenders, and financial institutions.
- Mitigate risks by maintaining robust internal controls and audit practices.
- Oversee insurance coverages, contract negotiations, and bonding requirements.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA strongly preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years in Construction Accounting.
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
- Strong understanding of WIP schedule, job costing, and lien reporting.
- Prevailing Wage and certified payroll experience.
- Ability to manipulate and interpret large amounts of data.
- Proven track record of managing finances for $20+ million in revenue.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Strategic thinker with high-level attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to direct and supervise.

- Building and maintaining executive-level partnerships and relationships.
