Job Supervisory Responsibilities: accounting manager, senior accountant, grants and risk manager, and business office manager; indirect supervision of all members of the finance department
General Summary: This position is designed to work closely with the current CFO to learn the operations, systems, and financial strategies that define the Four Rivers way of managing finances. Depending on experience, the candidate will have the unique opportunity to be mentored and gradually assume responsibilities in preparation for transitioning into the sole CFO position based on the support needed by the applicant.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Interacts with clinic management staff in developing the strategic plan and its financial planning component.
- Oversees and directs budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, long-range forecasting, and insurance activities for the organization.
- Evaluates the organization's financial position and issues periodic reports on the organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
- Develops and implements financial policies and procedures and ensures compliance.
- Assures implementation of internal controls and generally accepted accounting procedures accounting.
- Supervises the analysis of costs and makes rate recommendations to ensure appropriate income/cash flow.
- Oversees annual audits
- Oversees and directs the preparation and issuance of the organization's annual tax and other reports. Prepares or reviews financial statements for Board of Directors.
- Acts as the liaison to attorneys, insurance companies, and individuals.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or on-the-job accounting experience. CPA preferred.
Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in financial/accounting management. Experience in health care financial management preferred.
Other Requirements: CPA preferred.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of financial management principles sufficient to direct professional staff and coordinate all aspects involved with fiscal requirements.
- Knowledge in developing, analyzing and presenting financial statements.
- Knowledge of financial and budgetary practices to develop annual budget, analyze financial data and patterns, and prepare financial statements.
- Knowledge of the clinic's strategic business objectives and employee performance objectives.
- Preferred knowledge of governmental and health care fiscal regulations and reporting requirements.
- Preferred Knowledge and oversight of Revenue Cycle Management and billing procedure.
