Our organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our client's executive team. The CFO will play a critical role in the strategic direction of our mortgage company, providing financial leadership and aligning business and finance strategy to grow the business. The ideal candidate will have a passion for real estate and mortgage industry and a proven track record of success in managing a company's financial actions.
Responsibilities:
As a Chief Financial Officer, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Developing and implementing the company's financial strategy and planning.
2. Evaluating and managing the organization's capital structure and financing strategies.
3. Overseeing all financial operations and directing corporate financial planning and structure.
4. Coordinating, analyzing and reporting the financial performance to Management and Board of Directors (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required).
5. Preparing short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties.
6. Overseeing audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms and review firms performance.
7. Developing, implementing and maintaining accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting, employee relations (hiring/terminating policies) and other corporate policies.
8. Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
9. Responsible for relationships with lenders, auditors and tax firms (auditing, banking and other financial needs).
10. Supervising acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
2. Minimum of 7 years of finance and accounting leadership, preferably in the mortgage industry.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role.
4. Proven strategic planning experience at the management level.
5. Proficient in corporate governance and business policy.
6. Strong understanding of mortgage markets and the ability to analyze financial data.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
9. Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.
10. Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
11. Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues.
12. Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.
13. Strong ability to work on high-level strategy as well as detailed, day-to-day operations.
14. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and financial reporting software.
