We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team. The CFO is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization. This leadership position requires expertise in healthcare finance, strong planning capabilities, and a deep understanding of the unique financial and regulatory environment that FQHC’s operate within. The CFO will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization while supporting the mission to provide high quality, accessible healthcare to underserved communities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage financial policies, procedures, and systems to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the CEO and senior leadership team to support the organization’s mission and long-term goals.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to ensure the alignment of financial resources with the health center’s strategic priorities.
- Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity to support the center’s operations, expansion, and capital needs.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations, including those specific to FQHC’s such as HRSA (Health Resources and Services Administration) and Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement processes.
- Monitor the financial health of the organization, identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Oversee preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Provide insightful analysis and recommendation on key financial indicators to guide decision-making by senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Lead the preparation and filing of required tax documents, audits, and reports, ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and guidelines.
- Oversee revenue cycle processes, including billing, collections, and reimbursement procedures.
- Ensure efficient management of payer contracts, billing operations, and reimbursement issues.
- Work closely with operations and clinical teams to optimize revenue streams and minimize delays in reimbursement.
- Monitor changes in reimbursement regulations and manage the impact on financial operations.
- Lead and manage the finance department, providing guidance and mentorship to finance team members.
