About the Job
The Chief Financial Office is responsible for overseeing the finance, accounting and information technology operations for the group of companies. This individual reports directly to the President/CEO and will work as an active member of the Executive team. The CFO will have primary day to day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial related activities of the company with additional oversight and support to shared services and other entities.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Business Partner:
- Act as a strategic financial business partner to the senior executive leadership team
- Assess and evaluate the financial performance of the organization with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts
- Coordinate investment strategy of Idle Funds to maximize returns and assist with arranging for financial needs
- Communicate, engage and interact with eh Executive leadership team, board of directors and financial leads across entities
- Productivity, Efficiency, and effectiveness Evaluation of 3 Business Divisions
- Participate in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational change
- Participate in Strategic Planning and Enterprise Risk Management Committees
Accounting, Tax, and Related Management:
- Supervise the accounting department to ensure the proper functions of all related systems, databases, and financial applications
- Created and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the companys strategic plan
- Review and ensure application of appropriate internal control design, compliance, and financial procedures
- Evaluate, propose, and implement key policies and procedures and processes
- Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns
- Oversee and ensure value add accounting shared services to sister companies
- Serve as a key point of contact of JV partner, surety and external auditors
- Manage preparation and support of all external audits
- Drive and work hands-on with the accounting department on continuous improvements
- Collaborate with entity Controllers on opportunities to improve, ensure effective shared services an d provide assistance where needed
Cash, Credit and Investment Management:
- Lead cash flow planning, drive action plans, and forecast process to ensure funds availability and improved cash flow
- Explore new investment opportunities and provide recommendations on potential returns and risks
- Elead foreign currency risk policy, and procedures and proposed opportunities to mitigate risk
- Manage credit facility and related compliance
- Maintain outstanding banking relationships, strategic alliances and related business partners
- Work with Operations and organizations to develop budgets for each project
Team Management:
- Mentor and develop a team of Senior manager and/or staff, manage workloads, training, provide performance evaluation and build highly collaborative environment
- Guide larger, cross-divisional teams outside of the direct span of control within the three main company divisions
- Assist with Employment Recruitment and Retention Initiatives
- Information Technology and Related Management:
- Provide hands-on leadership and management of the IT team
- Create and establish yearly IT objectives that align with the company’s strategic plan
- Evaluate, propose and implement key policies, procedures and processes
- Analyze and understand the business requirements of all departments and their technology needs
- Drive and work hands on with the IT team on continuous improvements
- Oversee and ensure value and IT shared services to sister companies
Required Skills, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Background in Big4 or Regional Public Accounting firm preferred
- 5 years minimum experience as CFO in a $250M+ business
- Outstanding communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence – ability to motivate staff
- Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Significant experience working with external auditors, banking partners and sureties
- Significant experience with internal control design
- Construction and/or Real Estate industry preferred
- Budget development, monitoring and management experience for effectiveness and efficiency is ideal
- Enterprise Accounting Software preferred

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
