Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the monthly closing process, including the review of general ledger accounts and the preparation of journal entries.
- Prepare and analyze monthly labor reports, including job costing and variance analysis.
- Review and approve accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of quarterly payroll tax filings.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze project costs and profitability, including the review of work-in-progress schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and work with external auditors during year-end audits.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide support to other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- At least 3 years of experience in the construction industry with union payroll.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience with WIP closing and job costing.
- Knowledge of quarterly payroll taxes.
- Experience with general ledger closing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Sage, is preferred.
