LOCATION OF POSITION: MDH, Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, Jessup, MD
Main Purpose of Job: This position provides executive leadership for both clinical and operational aspects of the hospital in order to accomplish the mission of the hospital – to provide competent treatment for its patients, treat all employees as its most valued asset, accomplish its goals and objectives with efficiency and fiscal restraint, manage its responsibilities with sensitivity to the surrounding community, and enhance its role as a progressive force in the mental health community and as a leader in providing effective hospital care. This position also supervises all clinical services and manages and supervises all clinical departments and program services to assure the delivery of quality patient care and compliance with standards of accreditation, licensing and regulatory requirements. The hospital provides services to adult forensic and civilly committed patients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must possess a current Maryland medical license, current Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substance Registration and boarded in Psychiatry by the American Medical Association Specialty Board or other Board approved by the Maryland Board of Physicians. Qualified candidates must also possess at least 6 years of experience managing health service operations in a behavioral health setting, and 4 years of managerial or supervisory experience. The desirable candidate will also possess a certification in Forensic Psychiatry, as well as specific experience in forensic health service program planning and development.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current or past Chief Executive Officer experience, in a forensic behavioral health facility is strongly desired.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Applicants for this classification must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law. A copy of a current Maryland medical license and board certification should be attached to the application.
- Applicants for this classification must be board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Medical Specialties, or other Board approved by the Maryland Board of Physicians.
- Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal use of Drugs.
