Chief Estimator at Per Se Group

Per Se Group is seeking a highly skilled Chief Estimator with a strong background in commercial and industrial construction. The successful candidate will lead the estimating team, overseeing the preparation of bids, budgets, and pre-construction services for various projects. This position requires a hands-on leader with extensive experience in estimating practices, cost analysis, and project management for large-scale commercial and industrial developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating team for commercial and industrial projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates.
• Develop detailed bid proposals, budgets, and schedules for projects.
• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals, ensuring accurate pricing.
• Collaborate with project management and business development teams during pre-construction to develop pricing strategies.
• Conduct value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality.
• Track and analyze trends in construction costs, labor, and materials.
• Oversee the procurement and selection of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure the accuracy of cost estimates.
• Manage risk assessments and ensure all estimates comply with client and company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of estimating experience in commercial and industrial construction.
• Proven leadership and management experience in a senior estimator or chief estimator role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of estimating techniques, construction processes, and project management.
• Strong proficiency in construction estimating software (such as ProEst, Sage Estimating, or similar).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
