Overview:
The Chief Enterprise Architect is a leadership role focused on driving enterprise IT strategy and architecture for a critical IT system modernization project. The primary goals of this initiative are to maintain and enhance a vital IT system, ensuring its functionality, security, and reliability while transitioning to a modern, cloud-based infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead diverse technical teams, consult with senior executives, and deliver innovative IT solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
This position is integral to ensuring the efficiency and readiness of a critical IT system to meet future demands. The Chief Enterprise Architect will play a pivotal role in transforming IT services and implementing modern infrastructure solutions to deliver operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct teams comprising enterprise architects, systems engineers, business analysts, and network engineers.
- Partner with senior executives to provide expert consultation, coaching, and advice on IT strategy, enterprise alignment, and architecture solutions.
- Resolve complex problems, devise innovative solutions, and communicate concepts to achieve operational goals.
- Deliver high-level enterprise architecture analysis, design, integration, and documentation to support organizational transformation.
- Translate complex enterprise strategies into actionable tactical plans.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards, policies, and best practices.
- Provide technical and analytical leadership for enterprise architecture initiatives, ensuring alignment with mission-critical priorities.
- Develop responses and briefings for key stakeholders, including executives within the DoD, GAO, and OMB.
Qualifications:
- MA/MS degree and 10 years of experience, OR BA/BS degree and 12 years of experience.
- Experience using MS SQL Server Management Studio in large enterprise data environments.
- Strong understanding of DoD business transformation processes and organizational structures.
- Extensive experience with DoD frameworks and strategies, including: DoDAF, DoD Net-Centric and Data Strategies, DoD Information Assurance Guidance, DoD Federation Strategy
- Active Secret Clearance.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience in architecting Army projects utilizing low-code environments.
- Hands-on experience with Business Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Transition Plans.
- Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture and the Business Mission Area Federation Strategy and Roadmap.
- Expertise in enterprise architecture, IT systems modernization, and cloud-based solutions.
- Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to present to and influence senior executives and stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of DoD compliance and reporting requirements.

- Be able to maintain awareness during scheduled working hours.
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at desk and working on a computer (mouse and keyboard)
- Able to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; good command of the English language
