Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Engineer, Systems for the ARMY Division.
JOB DETAILS
LOCATION: Pentagon, Washington D.C.
JOB STATUS: Full Time
TRAVEL: Estimated at 30%
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical discipline.
CERTIFICATIONS:
One or more of the following technical certifications or equivalent, is preferred:
- Program Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- PMI Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
- DAWIA – Test and Evaluation and\or Program Management – Advanced \ Level 3
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: A minimum of five years of experience with a technical background and personal experience in leading, directing, and integrating technology and T&E-related functions, activities, systems, and programs in the Federal Government, a state or local government, or a large corporation. Must demonstrate Subject Matter Expertise within the last five years in T&E technology trends and capabilities. Must have demonstrated experience utilizing this expertise within the Federal Government, a state or local government, or a large corporation. Must demonstrate experience with integrated and synchronized development and implementation of complex T&E-related policies and programs throughout a large organization, ensuring compliance at all levels.
It is preferred that detailed technical experience within the last five years includes modern software development practices and cloud technology, as applied in large enterprises within the last three years. Preferred experience includes a basic understanding of program management with acquisition experience over large, complex programs. Additional experience with the Federal budget cycle and DoD-specific Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution processes is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Chief Engineer shall lead or conduct major studies and business case analyses aimed at informing budgetary and programmatic decisions regarding T&E capabilities. The Chief Engineer shall identify opportunities for joint acquisition, leasing, or development of systems, services, programs, and capabilities across the OSD components and with non-OSD mission partners to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and cybersecurity in support of OSD operations.
