Overview:Join Our Team as Chief Engineer
We are looking for a knowledgeable Chief Engineer to join our team at YOTELPAD Park City. This role is critical in maintaining our property’s excellence and ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of our guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages daily hotel facilities projects.
- Responds to guest’s maintenance requests and questions and resolves their need efficiently.
- Responsible for training, motivating and supporting subordinate staff to ensure quality service.
- Counsel, coach, discipline, and document performance of staff. Recognizes and rewards superior performance. Conducts 90 day and annual reviews for all maintenance employees.
- Sets work schedules for staff according to skill and workload level.
- Organizes and participates in meetings and maintains records and data pertaining to Property Operations.
- Plans, implements, and administers the PM Program.
- Participates in the development and monitoring of budget and capital projects.
- Develops and monitors engineering supplies, parts, inventories, and administers the purchase order system.
- Communicates information to the General Manager.
- Responsible for correct use of office equipment and Life Safety Systems, (training will be provided) of the entire maintenance staff.
- Oversees the payroll of the maintenance department staffing including Paid Time Off.
- Arranges, monitors, and approves any outside contracting work.
- Coordinates work projects.
- Keeping accurate records of all engineering material requirements.
- Maintaining a high level of OSHA awareness in all areas.
- Attends all Manager meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational or technical training in a specific maintenance trade or equivalent trade/ construction experience
- Five years’ experience in hotel maintenance or similar experience including Condo’s or apartment maintenance.
- Previous supervisory experience of engineering team or experience of supervision up to 6 people
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- CPO Certified in the state of Utah or willing to obtain.
- Universal EPA refrigerant certificate HVAC Experience minimum of 2 years preferred.
- Ability to read wire and schematic diagrams.
- Ability to properly use an electrical meter.
- A working knowledge of the Federal and State regulations on HVAC, paint products, plumbing and structural codes. Also, knowledge regarding proper disposal of engineering byproducts.
- A working knowledge of OSHA standards and ability ensure staff and contractor adherence to standards.
- Proficient with excel, word, and outlook. The ability to interpret modify and create spreadsheets and documents. Basic computer skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively with staff, contractors, HOA, and managers.
- The ability to create budgets and manage expenses. This includes capital expenditures.
- Be able to react under pressure to resolve issues that impact the building and guests in emergency situations.
- Understands local & state testing requirements for life safety testing.

- Two years’ experience in a similar position in the hospitality industry.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Ability to read and interpret HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing blueprints.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Universal refrigerant license preferred.
- Ability to read wire and schematic diagrams.
- Ability to properly use an electrical meter.
- Ability to walk, stand, reach, crouch, bend, push/pull throughout duration of shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
