Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) to drive growth and develop key partnerships with universities and hospitals across Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology, specifically in leadership roles such as CIO or CTO within higher education institutions or healthcare systems. This individual will play a pivotal role in representing the company, building lasting relationships, and guiding strategic discussions around the implementation of high-level technology platforms that benefit our partners in academia and healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Relationship Management & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison and trusted advisor between the company and universities/hospitals, cultivating strong relationships with senior leadership, including CIOs, CTOs, and other decision-makers.
- Business Development Strategy: Lead the development and execution of business development strategies aimed at establishing and expanding the company’s presence in the higher education and healthcare sectors.
- Partnership Growth: Identify, evaluate, and foster new partnership opportunities with universities and healthcare institutions to drive the adoption and integration of our high-speed technology platform.
- Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, gaps, and opportunities within the education and healthcare industries, translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with internal teams, including product development, marketing, and operations, to align business development efforts with the company’s overall goals and product offerings.
- Advocacy & Thought Leadership: Represent the organization at key conferences, events, and forums related to technology in education and healthcare. Serve as a thought leader, promoting the company’s vision and solutions to external stakeholders.
- Contract Negotiation & Close Deals: Lead and manage negotiations for partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives while securing favorable terms.
- Reporting & Metrics: Track and report on key business development metrics, including pipeline progress, partnership outcomes, and revenue growth.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role (CIO, CTO, or equivalent) within a university, hospital, or healthcare system.
- Strong understanding of high-speed technology solutions, especially in relation to academic and healthcare environments.
- Extensive experience in business development, with a track record of success in building strategic partnerships and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple relationships and projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
- Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, compelling value propositions for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of Florida’s academic and healthcare landscape and key players in these sectors is a plus.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a master’s or other advanced degree is preferred.
