Position Overview:
As the Chicago Community Manager, you will be the face of Approachable in the city. You will be responsible for curating an exciting events calendar, ensuring high-quality content is captured to showcase our events, and amplifying our presence on social media. This role is perfect for someone who loves connecting with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for building communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain a dynamic events calendar that aligns with Approachable’s mission and appeals to our target audience.
Coordinate with venues, partners, and vendors to execute events seamlessly.
Attend and oversee events to ensure they run smoothly and provide an exceptional experience for attendees.
Capture high-quality b-roll and photo content at events to showcase the Approachable experience.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging visuals and videos for promotional use.
Manage and grow Approachable’s social media presence in Chicago.
Post regularly to showcase events, highlight community stories, and drive engagement.
Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and friendly manner.
Build and nurture relationships with event attendees, local influencers, and community partners.
Act as a brand ambassador, spreading the word about Approachable and encouraging people to join the community.
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in event planning, community management, social media, or a related field.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).
A passion for creating connections and fostering community.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.
Experience with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite)
