Summary
The successful Chemist manages the production operations for various areas of the coating department as assigned by management. Continually optimizing the processes and materials required for application of the various coatings supplied from the facility. Develops new coatings and defines the required ancillary equipment needed for the processes.

What you’ll do
- Development, review, and audit of job safety hazard analysis documentation.
- Plays an integral part in the facility's safety program. Responsible for the safety of the employees.
- Monitors the quality of work performed by the employees.
- Responsible for the efficiency of the employees.
- Develops and documents coating processes and testing procedures.
- Develops and evaluates new and current production coatings.
- Tests and adjusts chemical levels of electroplating baths.
- Performs programming required for various coating application equipment.
- Performs job cost estimating and specifies/orders departmental consumables.
- Trains local and sister company employees on coating procedures, properties, and application methods.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, with one to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and can deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Computer skills: ADP (Time and Attendance), GSS (Business systems), Spreadsheet, Word Processing Software, and Coating Equipment Programming.
- Problem solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
