What’s involved in this role: 

We are looking for a Cheese Technical Managerin Little Chute, WI.         

• Manage recipes and make updates to maximize both yield and quality/performance of all products produced.
• Fully support and effectively communicate changes in processes, recipe, operation, quality issues and concerns, as well as trials to the department--Plant Manager, Production Manager, Supervisors and R & D.
• Manager an efficient cheese process to lead the production and quality teams to meet or exceed yields and quality goals of our customers.
• Develop and maintain procedures for the cheese make, operation, and training of supervisors and employees in the cheese plant.
• Manage the starter programs for the cheese processes.
• Assist when required with plant audits (USDA, FDA, State, third party, etc.) and plant tours.
• Partner with Quality to make determinations on disposition of product based on product and customer specifications.
• Support the customer’s needs and wants for their cheese.
• Work with product development and cheese sales on new product formulations.

What you need to join our team:  

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in the cheese making process required.
• Master Cheese Makers Certification preferred
• Associate Degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry or related experience required.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. 

Where you’ll be working: 

Our Little Chute, WI, plant is home to about 150 employees. This facility is a top manufacturer of IQF sticks that are supplied to the appetizer industry. Next to the plant is our well-known Simon’s Specialty Cheese store, which has about 20 employees. Simon’s is a Wisconsin-themed store, with everything from meats and cheese to clothing and craft spirits.
