Summary:
Under the direction of the Nursing Director, works with the Department RN Manager and RN Assistant Manager as a part of the management/leadership team to provide clinical and operational shift supervision of care processes which includes patient flow, exceptional care experiences, quality processes, patient safety, and direction of unit staff in designated service area(s). May provide direct patient care

 

Neuro Step-Down Unit:

A dedicated team of high performing nurses who go above and beyond to provide exceptional patient care. Our 29-bed unit is committed to the health of our patients. Our unit is a highly specialized neurology Step-Down dedicated to the special care required for patients who are recovering from neurosurgery, or neurological injuries to include psych patients. We are a Joint Commission-Accredited Primary Step-Down and believes in a Family Dynamic unit that grows together as a tea

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum One year of nursing experience required

Specialty Certifications: Specialty Certifications in area of practice preferred

Education:
Essential:
* Associate Degree

*ACLS

 

Credentials:
Essential:
* Registered Nurse; Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required.

 

Academic Preparation:
*Degree from accredited academic nursing program (If a program is under conditional status, approval may be granted by system CNO)

*Additional Requirements based upon area of service
*CDS Inpatient
*Progressive and Critical Care Units: ACLS
*Emergency Departments: ACLS, PALS
*Pediatrics / PICU: PALS
*Newborn Nursery / Mother-Baby Care / NICU: NRP
*Family Birthing Center: NRP and Fetal Monitoring; permanent charge requires ACLS in addition to others
*Pre-op / Operating Room / PACU: ACLS, PALS
*Oncology Chemotherapy certification
