Object First is seeking a Channel Sales Engineer. The Object First Channel Sales Engineer is a technical field position that serves as the resource for the Technical Partner Community. As Channel SE, it is expected that you will be able to enable partners to perform all the functions that an Object First Sales Engineer does including running Proof of Concepts. In this role you will report directly to the Director, Pre-Sales Engineering, Americas. You will have experience within back-up, disaster recovery and data management solutions either in sales engineering, support or R&D and looking for move into a direct customer facing technical realm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Demonstrate subject matter expertise and technical leadership on Object First products.
- Pre-Sales Support: Support pre-sales activities in the assigned market by building strong technical relationships with CDW's technical and sales teams, their customers, and ecosystem partners. Serve as a technical expert and consultant to develop and propose solutions that align with the technology and business needs of CDW.
- Technical Presentations: Deliver technical and sales presentations to CDW's sales teams, with a strong focus on technical roles.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with the account team, partners, and customers to support sales team objectives. Leverage corporate resources, abilities, budgets, and personnel as needed.
- Technical Sales Engagement: Lead technical sales calls and educate others on the value and capabilities of Object First products.
- Opportunity Qualification: Work with the sales team to qualify sales opportunities by understanding customer technical requirements, evaluating competition, identifying decision-making processes, and confirming funding availability.
- Event Support: Support lead-generation activities, including events, webinars, and user group meetings, to drive awareness and engagement.
- Revenue Accountability: As a Channel Sales Engineer, take ownership of delivering and exceeding revenue goals by fostering innovative technical engagements with partners and prospects in collaboration with the Channel Sales team.
Who You Are:
- Channel Experience: Proven experience working in the channel, preferably with CDW, though experience with other Corporate Resellers will be considered.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with Veeam Data Platform and data center technologies, including storage, networking, and virtualization. Familiarity with other data protection solutions (backup, recovery, and disaster recovery) is a plus.
- Thought Leadership: Proven ability to provide technical recommendations and strategic insights to customers, partners, and internal teams to drive product evolution.
- Sales Engineering Background: Demonstrable experience in sales engineering, preferably in software sales, DevOps, or data protection, or a background in technical support (Tier 2 or Tier 3 minimum) or technical R&D.
- Driven and Proactive: Highly energetic with a strong, hands-on, “can-do” attitude and a desire to take ownership of success.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic, resourceful mindset, and a "get-it-done" attitude.
- Thrives Under Pressure: Excels in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple calls and demos per day with immediate and effective follow-up.
- Business Acumen: High-level understanding of business challenges and the ability to demonstrate how technology solutions address these issues. Experience working with CxO-level personnel is highly valued.
- Team Player: Effective communicator and collaborator, able to work seamlessly with multiple sales team members and other departments.
- Adaptable Learner: Quick to learn new technologies and capable of educating others effectively.
- Willingness to Travel: Open to regional travel for events and customer meetings, with up to 50% travel required.
