About the Job
The Away From Home Channel Marketing Manager will act as a strategic partner with sales, brand marketing, sales finance and our agency partners to execute Away From Home (AFH) insights and selling solutions. In addition, this individual will drive all customer activation, insights and joint business planning with the account sales leads to drive deeper partnerships and accelerated growth. This role reports to the General Manager, Away From Home, with a dotted line reporting relationship to Marketing.
This position is based out of our headquarters in the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles and works in the office Tuesday through Thursday.
Responsibilities:- Assist in the development and execution of customer specific account plans to maximize profitable sales of Califia Farms branded foods. This would include but not be limited to: use of existing and custom research, innovation (packaging, product), development of promotions and LTOs, support of branded product development initiatives, food show/conference support, utilization of culinary and R&D resources.
- Active involvement in using consumer led marketing insights to create customer-specific initiatives to grow plant-based business with key Strategic Accounts.
- Internal driver of new product formats to align with industry opportunities and needs in partnership with the Brand team.
- Provide a day-to-day point of contact for Califia Farms Away from Home sales team and customers, facilitating tactical business support, and promotional programming development as needed.
- Development of all AFH marketing assets, such as presentations, customer activations, print collateral, training materials and website content.
- Drive insights into actionable sales driven activities
- Assess, gather data and present state of the AFH business to internal stakeholders and leadership on a monthly basis
- Help develop further engagement and activation within the Café community in partnership with Sales Operations
- This role will serve as the liaison between AFH sales, and internal departments Brand, Communications, Design and Sales Finance) as well as external data and insights partners.
- Managing multiple projects (new launches, research, cost savings, operator promotions, etc.) to deliver upon agreed metrics.
- Assisting in delivering the marketing mix with ownership of specific executions in partnership with our agency teams
- Work with Sales to support trade shows and customer events, providing category and industry expertise
- Manage customer marketing budget and ROI
- Other project/duties as assigned or needed
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years’ experience in Marketing / Business Planning / Trade Marketing in Food & Beverage CPG
- Away From Home/Foodservice experience is a plus
- Entrepreneurial approach to driving a business with an ability to influence the organization
- Proven ability and desire to develop strategic acumen, analytical abilities, communication skills and capable of independent decision making and setting business vision
- Ability to convert quantitative and qualitative research/information into actionable insights and customer solutions. Familiarity with foodservice industry market research and data sources (NPD, Data essentials, Technomic, etc.) preferred but not required
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks. Ability to work under pressure, balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (including strong presentation skills), analytical ability, decision making skills.
The expected salary range for this position is between $125,000 - $140,000 per year based on a full-time schedule. Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting the actual salary.
