This is a "hands on" position requiring experience in all facets of financial management and accounting for a construction company.
SUMMARY: This position oversees all financial aspects of BCM Morring Company, Inc., including financial planning, cash management, risk management, accounting, payroll, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. The CFO will work closely with the CEO leadership team as required to drive strategic growth initiatives and improve financial performance. Some Bookeeping responsiblities will inlcude Quickbooks, reconciling accounts, building our banking relationships, Insurance annual buyouts and vetting policy are not all encompassing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Financial Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with others on the Leadership Team to gain alignment on goals, strategies, processes, and key decisions.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and other senior executives to guide business decisions and improve profitability.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, providing financial advice on key decisions and long-term strategies.
- Building and maintaining WIPS, coordinating WIP meetings weekly, holding key Project managers accountable for maintaining profitable projects.
Cash Management & Risk Management
- Oversee cash flow management and ensure adequate liquidity to support the company’s operations and growth initiatives. Partner in reviewing and managing debt, lines of credit, and financing terms.
- Implement strategies for addressing cash flow issues, such as customer escalation, collecting retainage, and managing change order collections.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard the company’s assets and minimize financial exposure.
- Develop strategies to reduce costs for travel, per diem, and other expenses.
- Review vendor agreements and negotiate payment terms to maximize cash flow while preserving positive vendor relationships and negotiating payemnt terms.
- Lead efforts to ensure the company maintains proper insurance coverage and adherence to financial regulations, along with annual insurance buy out for competitiveness within our market.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Analyze financial performance and operational efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and cost optimization.
- Conduct regular reviews of sales prices, margins, and profitability by project and work type, continually.
- Monitor departmental budgets and spending by collaborating closely with department heads to ensure accurate tracking, identify discrepancies early, and provide actionable feedback to improve financial performance.
- Provide insights into break-even analysis and billable hours needed to sustain profitability.
- Works closely with CPAs and coordinates efforts to satisfy their requests.
Financial Forecasting, Budgeting and Reporting
- Lead the annual budgeting process and develop financial forecasts based on market trends, historical performance, and future projections.
- Develop annual, 3-year, 5-year, and 10 year operating and financial plans.
- Prepare and present regular financial reports to executive leadership and other stakeholders.
- Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Create monthly projections for revenue and profitability.
- Identify key metrics that identify break-even and profitability.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop construction staff fostering collaboration and a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the department has the necessary skills and resources to meet the organization’s goals.
Compliance:
- Ensure the company complies with all financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of accurate financial statements and collaborates with CPA firm.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial consultants.
- Develop and implement strategies to accurately and efficiently satisfy prevailing wage audit requirements.
Other Duties
- Review software systems and processes for payroll, inventory, procurement, and fleet management, making recommendations for improvement.
- Lead or participate in decisions on rental vs. lease vs. ownership of fleet, equipment, and tools.
* MUST BE A FIT to partner with CEO on key decisions and a great communicator with no reservations for communications, reporting and financial snap shots.

Salary: $48,550 - $120,000 Annual
