Creative Financial Staffing recently placed a Staff Accountant with a non profit organization in Agawam. This client has come back to have us source their next CFO! Their current CFO has been employed with them for nearly 13 years, and is ready to retire this July.
Location: Agawam, MA 80% on site

They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the leadership team and help drive financial strategy to support the mission.
Position Summary: The CFO will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial operations. This includes financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of non-profit financial management, a strategic mindset, and the ability to lead and inspire a finance team.
Key CFO Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s goals and mission.
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including non-profit specific requirements.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors, Executive Team, and other stakeholders.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor financial performance against budgets.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and leadership team based on financial analysis and projections.
- The CFO will oversee grant management and financial reporting for grants and contracts.
- Enhance and implement financial systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
Qualifications of the CFO:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 4-10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in non-profit finance and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of non-profit financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
