Job Overview:
The CPA is responsible for providing high-quality accounting services, including financial reporting, tax preparation, auditing, and consulting. They ensure compliance with regulatory standards and assist clients or organizations in managing their financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Tax Preparation and Planning:
Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals or businesses.
Develop tax strategies to minimize liabilities and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Provide tax advice and support to clients or internal departments.
Audit and Assurance:
Conduct audits of financial statements to assess accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Identify areas for improvement in internal controls and financial processes.
Prepare audit reports and communicate findings to management or clients.
Consulting and Advisory:
Offer financial advice and guidance on various business matters, such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic business decisions.
Provide expertise in areas such as risk management and internal controls.
Compliance and Regulatory:
Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and standards.
Ensure that financial practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Prepare and file necessary documentation with regulatory agencies.
Client or Stakeholder Interaction:
Serve as a point of contact for clients or internal departments regarding accounting and financial matters.
Develop and maintain professional relationships to understand client needs and provide tailored solutions.
Record Keeping and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions and audits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper, preferably in the healthcare industry.
Proficiency in accounting/expensing software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Concur or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
