About the Job
Butterfly Staffing is seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our client's team, an 8(a) certified company specializing in federal construction projects within the Hampton Roads area. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in federal contracting and construction accounting, ensuring compliance with government regulations and contributing to the financial success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Manage job costing, project accounting, and allocation of overhead costs specific to construction projects.
- Lead preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and compliant with applicable standards.
- Oversee tax planning strategies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and project management.
Qualifications:
- Active CPA license is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in federal contracting and construction accounting.
- Strong understanding of federal acquisition regulations, 8(a) program requirements, and construction industry accounting practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
