Role Summary:
As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will ensure the financial integrity of our organization, particularly in the management and reporting of government contracts. You’ll work closely with executive leadership, providing vital insights and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Government Compliance: Manage accounting activities for government contracts, ensuring compliance with FAR, CAS, and other federal requirements.
Deltek/Costpoint Expertise: Serve as the primary user of Deltek/Costpoint to streamline project accounting, reporting, and cost tracking.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, project reports, and cost allocations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Audit Readiness: Lead audit preparation and manage interactions with DCAA and external auditors.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and monitor budgets for government projects, providing variance analyses and recommendations.
Process Improvement: Optimize financial processes and systems, leveraging Deltek/Costpoint capabilities for enhanced efficiency.
Leadership & Training: Mentor junior staff and provide training on government accounting standards and Deltek/Costpoint functionality.
Required Qualifications:
Certification: CPA designation is required.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in accounting roles with a focus on government contracts.
Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Deltek/Costpoint is mandatory.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of FAR, CAS, and federal contract compliance requirements.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex financial data, including indirect rate calculations and cost allocations.
Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders clearly and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with DCAA audits.
Background in managing multiple government contracts simultaneously.
Knowledge of GAAP in the context of federal contracts.
