We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical care to patients with limb loss and musculoskeletal disorders. This is a permanent, full-time position that requires a hands-on, empathetic professional who can work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field, with a proven track record of designing, fitting, and maintaining prosthetic and orthotic devices.
Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate patients' physical conditions and needs, and develop a comprehensive treatment plan in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
2. Design, fit, and modify prosthetic and orthotic devices according to patients' unique needs and physicians' prescriptions.
3. Provide education and training to patients and their families on the use and maintenance of devices.
4. Regularly assess and monitor patients' progress, making necessary adjustments to devices and treatment plans.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including clinical notes, evaluation results, and treatment plans.
6. Stay current with the latest advancements in prosthetics and orthotics, and incorporate new techniques and technologies into patient care.
7. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
8. Provide compassionate, empathetic care to patients, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their comfort throughout the treatment process.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics or a related field.
2. Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) certification from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics, or equivalent.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist.
4. Proficiency in using CAD/CAM technology for device design and fitting.
5. Strong clinical skills, with the ability to evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information to patients and their families in a clear, understandable manner.
7. Compassionate and empathetic, with a strong commitment to providing patient-centered care.
8. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure.
10. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
