The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Retail Pharmacy at Centerra in Lebanon, NH seeks a pharmacy technician to join our team. In this role, the pharmacy technician works under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacists to support the Retail Pharmacy, including: working the register, billing insurance, dispensing product, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean workspace.
Our ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, and an attention to detail. Prior pharmacy experience is preferred, though all are encouraged to apply.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Retail Pharmacy operates 24 hours/day, 365 days a year. We have a dedicated staff of over 40 technicians and pharmacists combined, and each one is encouraged to work to the top of their certification or licensure to promote patient health and well-being. Full-Time Shift Highlights:
- Four 10 hour shifts per week
- Rotating day/evening shifts (7:00 AM-9:00 PM) or set overnight shifts (9:00 PM-7:30 AM) to support our 24/7 pharmacy
- Rotating Saturday and Sunday coverage is equitably comped during the week
- Our shift differentials are 10% for evenings, 20% for nights, and 15% for weekends
- Answers Phones.
- Prepares prescription and non-prescription medication and/or devices.
- Stocks and replenishes stock locations and automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and/or robots (example: shelves, carousels, Parata).
- May assist with orienting and training pharmacy department staff.
- Communicates supply issues, problems or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Assists in revising policy and procedure.
- Delivers meds to beds or patient care area
- Inpatient Only:
- Prepares or compounds non-sterile, non-antineoplastic drug products in accordance with USP chapter <795> under supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Maintains the hardware and software of the department's multiple computer systems.
- Outpatient Only:
- Electronically processes prescription orders and prepares prescriptions for verification by a pharmacist.
- Take verbal orders from providers, runs registers, performs production and data entry production.
- Processes third party claims.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Associates degree in a health or related field, (with 1 year of pharmacy experience) or the equivalent in education and experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the NH Board of Pharmacy required.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
- BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire for Pharmacy Technicians in the Retail or Specialty Pharmacy if required to administer immunizations
