Full-Time Hours:

Your Role as a Certified Peer Recovery Coach/Community Liaison:
Certified Peer Recovery Coach/Community Liaisons are vital to a recovery-oriented system of care and ongoing recovery from Opioid Use Disorder. Certified Peer Recovery Coach/Community Liaisons will break down barriers to treatment and bridge together the varying entities that help an individual transition away from illicit opioid use and maintain productive, long-term recovery. Additionally, the Certified Peer Recovery Coach/Community Liaison will assist the patient in developing skills and enhancing strengths to avoid relapse and successfully navigate the full continuum of care and the road to long-term recovery.
The Peer Recovery Coach/Community Liaison is responsible for performing a wide range of tasks to assist in regaining control over their own lives and their own recovery process. This includes using their own personal recovery experience to support patients. The Peer Recovery Coach/Community Liaison models the attributes of respect, trust, sensitivity, and confidentiality to participants in the CTC program. Serving as a human link between the outpatient provider and the community. Responsible to identify and establish relationships with key referral sources (i.e. Needle Exchange, Med Surg Hospitals, Behavioral Health providers, Criminal Justice programs, Family Health Centers, etc.) and assist persons with OUD to gain access to treatment. Furthermore, increasing and expanding access for marginalized and underserved populations. This position works in collaboration with the other members of the CTC team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understand and implement the core values, principles, and tasks of the Peer Recovery Coach.
- Role model respect, trust, sensitivity and confidentiality to patients, volunteers, and colleagues.
- Provide support and promote healthy relationships.
- Advocate for patients in receiving timely and coordinated services.
- Offer support during transitions, as needed/requested.
- Collaborate with individuals, team members, family, and caregivers.
- Support the navigation of systems both internally and externally.
- Promote self-advocacy and independence.
- Explore possibilities, choices, skill building, goal-setting and facilitate overcoming barriers with patients.
- Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn about alternative treatment options and or medication assisted treatment.
- Schedule and facilitate meetings with local community organizations, to discover any barriers and concerns related to accessing and understanding MAT/OTP services.
- Lead/contribute to community conversation around removing stigma of MAT.
- Order collateral and promotional marketing items.
- Following any community meetings, a liaison will write timely reports to share insights with the Clinic Director and Regional Director.
- Build effective partnerships to facilitate engagement and outreach and promote grassroots marketing initiatives that result in admissions into MAT services.
- Discover and participate in opportunities for tabling events, conferences and speaking engagements to further promote CTC Division.
- Track all meetings, phone/email communication with referrals in Salesforce.
- Assist in any content creation for social media
- Interface with communities and openly represent the OTP among businesses, at Community meetings, local Task Force meetings, and other potential collaborative opportunities, with the intent to improve education and ultimately to increase access to MAT services for out of Tx individuals.
- After identifying agency barriers, the liaison will have the ability to suggest solution tactics to encourage resolutions and provide follow-up meetings to ensure continued relationship building and coordination.
- Meet with other OTP Liaisons to share planning activities and to avoid duplication of efforts.
- Perform general administrative duties as assigned and participate in supervision activities.
Required Education & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Direct experience in substance abuse field through personal life experiences, instruction/internship or similar practicum through education or certification process
Licenses/Certifications:
- Tennessee Peer Recovery Coach Certification required;
- Or the commitment to obtain such within 90 days of hire date, with continued employment being contingent upon stated timely attainment of such certification
