Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides direct occupational therapy services for patients in Geriatric Services or for inpatient and outpatient in the acute care facility as prescribed by a physician and reviewed by the Licensed Occupational Therapist in accordance with the patient's established plan of care.
- In collaboration with a Licensed Occupational Therapist, organizes patient care and general activities to accomplish required functions.
- Provides an appropriate environment for the provision of care to individual patients by maintaining the patient care environment.
- Assists in provision of individualized patient care in collaboration with a Licensed Occupational Therapist responsible for coordinating the patient's care with the health care team
- Observes patient progress and reports changes in patient status to Licensed Occupational Therapist
- Other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
- Current Texas Licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR, or CPR for Healthcare Providers, or Heart Saver CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- A minimum of 1 year experience in IP rehab, may float to acute care
- Must be able to work weekdays and rotating weekends and holidays.
