Our Award-Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare and rehabilitation, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join their team in San Jose, California. This position offers an opportunity to work in an innovative and patient-focused environment with office space available at the location listed. The COTA will play a vital role in the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), working alongside both clinical and non-clinical members to provide exceptional care.
Responsibilities:
- Administer occupational therapy interventions, including muscle re-education, cognitive function activities, balance, and endurance training, and more to enhance participants' independence in performing daily activities.
- Implement treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist, assisting with obtaining vital signs, and conducting range of motion and strength tests.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to coordinate activities and programs tailored to each participant's treatment plan.
- Manage scheduling for participant treatments, clinical visits, and billing while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and tracking of therapy equipment.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an Accredited Program. Degrees earned outside the U.S. must meet U.S. equivalency standards.
- Valid California Occupational Therapy Assistant License or proof of license eligibility.
- At least two years of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in a clinical setting, particularly with frail or elderly populations.
- Expertise in treating elderly participants with complex needs.
- Reliable transportation.
