Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) - Full Time, Per Diem or 1099 Contractor (Open to Contractual Employment)
Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center is looking for a motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will play a crucial part in helping our residents achieve their rehabilitation goals and enhance their quality of life in a supportive subacute rehabilitation setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Treatment: Support Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized therapy programs to address residents' specific needs and goals.
- Therapeutic Activities: Engage residents in meaningful therapeutic activities and exercises that promote functional independence and improve daily living skills.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient progress and treatment interventions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Patient Education: Educate residents and their families about therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and home programs to support ongoing recovery.
- Collaborative Care: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, and physicians, to provide holistic patient care.
- Monitoring Progress: Assist in tracking patient progress and report any changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist for treatment adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Current certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a COTA in Florida.
- Experience: Previous experience in a rehabilitation or healthcare setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a passion for patient care and teamwork.
