Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) – Full Time
Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic in-house rehabilitation team. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to provide exceptional care, helping our residents achieve their rehabilitation goals and enhance their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist in executing individualized treatment plans created by occupational therapists, focusing on improving daily living skills, mobility, and overall functionality.
- Therapeutic Activities: Lead engaging therapeutic sessions that promote physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being in a supportive environment.
- Monitoring Progress: Observe and document patient progress meticulously, communicating findings with the occupational therapy team for ongoing treatment adjustments.
- Education: Provide education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, and strategies to promote independence and recovery.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members, including physical and speech therapists, nursing staff, and social workers, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Equipment Management: Assist in selecting and utilizing adaptive equipment and assistive devices to facilitate patients’ rehabilitation efforts.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy.
Qualifications:
- Certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
- Valid state license to practice as a COTA.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with patients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
