Certified Nursing Assistant (Part Time and Weekends only)! - Isles of Boynton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Position Purpose: Providesbasicnursingcaretoresidentswithinthescopeofthenursingassistantresponsibilitiesandperformsbasic nursing procedures under the direction of the licensed nurse supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
·         SuccessfulcompletionofStateApprovedNurseAideTrainingandCompetencyEvaluationProgram;Namemust appearon State Registry as Nurse Aide in good standing.
·         Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff;Must have the ability to read and write.
·         Prior experience as Nurse Aide preferred but not required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
·         Participatesinandreceivesnursingreportuponreportingfor duty.
·         Assistsresidentswithresidentcareincludingbathing,grooming,hygiene,andplacementofadaptiveequipment.
·         Explainsprocedurestoresidentsbeforeadministering.
·         Keepsresidentsdry(changesgown,clothing,linen,etc.,whenitbecomeswetorsoiled)
·         Changesbedlinensandkeepslinenstighttoavoidwrinklesfromformingunder residents.
·         Makesbeds(occupiedandunoccupied)
·         Handleslinensaccordingtoinfectioncontrolguidelines
·         Assistsresidentswithbowelandbladderfunctions.
·         Assistsresidentsinpreparationforandtransportingtoappointments,activities,andsocialprograms.
·         Assistswithlifting,positioning,andtransportingresidentsintoandoutofbeds,chairs,bathtubs,wheelchairs,lifts, etc., in keeping with specific resident safety needs.
·         Assistsresidentsinambulationwithorwithoutself-helpdevicesas instructed.
·         Performsrestorativeproceduresasinstructed.
·         Accuratelymeasuresandrecordsheightsandweights.
·         Accuratelymeasuresandrecordstemperatures,pulses,respirationsandbloodpressures(TPRsandB/P)as instructed.
·         Emptiesurinarydrainagebagsandrecordsamountinrecordasindicated;reportsanyirregularitiestonurse.
·         Ensurescalllightsarewithinreachofresidentsandanswerscalllights promptly.
·         Ensuresthatresidentswhoareunabletocallforhelparechecked frequently.
·         Ensuresthatresidents’personalcareneedsarebeingmetinaccordancewithresidents’wishes.
·         Reportsallchangesinresidents’conditiontosupervisorassoonaspractical.
