Education:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Individual must have received appropriate training in a Board of Nursing approved program NA-I Aide training and competency program. Individual must be listed with the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry. Must be 18 years of age for employment.

Experience:

0-6 months

Must be authorized to work in the United States

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in organizing household items
Assist with basic housekeeping tasks (sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping)
Care for clothing (washing, drying, ironing, and putting away/hanging up)
Assist or administer bed or tub bath, sponge bath, shower, or sit bath
Assist with or dress client
Assist and/or perform hair care, skin care, and nail care (cleaning under nails, painting, filing – you may not cut a client's nails)
Mouth care (including dentures)
Make an occupied or unoccupied bed
Assist with mobility with or without assistive devices
Shave client
Assist with active range of motion exercises if prescribed by MD
Assist with transfers with/without mechanical devices
Assist with proper food handling, food storage, and pest control
Prepare client for mealtime and assist with feeding
Take/record vital signs (BP, temp, HR, and resp) and recording blood sugar
Assist client with bedpan/urinal
Bowel/bladder retraining
Observe, record, and report self administered medications
Apply/remove prosthetic devices for stable clients
Apply ace bandages/TEDs/binders
Apply heat and cold as prescribed by MD
Change non sterile dressings
Care for non-infected decubitus ulcers
Assist clients in understanding medical orders/routines and encourage compliance
Recognize and report indicators of abuse, neglect, illness etc. to proper official
Provide basic first aid
Respond to emergency needs as they occur per company policy
Assist to find/use community services
Provide companionship/emotional support
