Job Summary:
This will be a full-time, direct placement position. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) play a vital role in the delivery of healthcare services by providing essential care to patients under the supervision of RNs and LPNs. As a CNA, you will be responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitoring their health, and ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work in various healthcare settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers, to support patients with varying levels of care needs. Your compassionate care and attention to detail will make a significant difference in the lives of those you serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help patients with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and toileting.
Monitor and Record Vital Signs: Measure and document patients’ vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate, according to established protocols.
Provide Basic Care and Comfort: Ensure patients are comfortable, assist with repositioning, and provide skin care to prevent pressure ulcers.
Patient Mobility and Transportation: Assist patients with walking, transferring from bed to chair, and transporting them to different areas within the facility.
Observe and Report: Monitor patients for changes in condition, behavior, or appetite, and promptly report any concerns to the nursing staff.
Support Patient Safety: Follow safety protocols to prevent falls, injuries, and infections, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients.
Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with RNs, LPNs, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Emotional Support: Offer compassionate support and reassurance to patients and their families, fostering a positive and caring atmosphere.
Requirements:
Certification: Must have an active CNA certification in the state of Indiana.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required; new graduates are welcome to apply.
Skills:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move patients using proper body mechanics.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Ability to perform tasks that require manual dexterity and physical strength.
