Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in providing quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of individuals in various healthcare settings. CNAs work closely with registered nurses and other medical staff to deliver compassionate and efficient care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
· Patient Care:
· Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
· Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
· Provide mobility assistance and help patients with transfers.
· Communication:
· Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
· Report changes in patients' conditions to the supervising nurse.
· Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
· Support to Healthcare Team:
· Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals in the development and implementation of care plans.
· Assist in maintaining a clean and organized patient care environment.
· Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
· Safety and Infection Control:
· Follow established protocols for infection control and safety.
· Adhere to proper lifting and transfer techniques to ensure the safety of both patients and healthcare providers.
· Observation and Reporting:
· Observe and report any changes in patients' physical or emotional conditions.
· Monitor and assist with medication administration as directed by the nursing staff.
· Professional Development:
· Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities to maintain and enhance CNA skills.
· Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
· Certification: Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Connecticut.
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
· Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Compassion: Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
· Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
· Physical Stamina: Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that involve lifting and moving patients.
· Regulatory Compliance: Adherence to state and federal regulations governing healthcare practices.
