About the Job
Certified Nurse Midwife
Midwife will be managing low to moderate-risk pregnancies, and other women health and gynecological needs within the scope of practice of a certified nurse midwife, and under CA laws.
This role is on-site and provides care at the following locations:
- Midtown - Sacramento, CA (95811)
- Arden - Sacramento, CA (95825)
- Carmichael, CA (95608)
Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Available: 0.8 (32 hours) to 1.0 FTE (40 hours).
Essential Functions
- Provide back up support for FM/OB clinicians during time off to manage women's health patients
- Post-menopause care including hormone replacement therapy
- Treat female teenagers during reproductive years for POCS, contraception, and other gynecological issues.
- Provide routine prenatal care and improve access, helping increase early entry into prenatal care by collaborating with other FM/OB clinicians in performing OB initial appointments.
- Conduct cervical cancer and breast cancer screenings, with the ability to work across all clinic locations, ensuring broader patient access, including pap clinics regularly.
- Collaborating with CPHWs by providing education and enabling them to contribute more broadly to patient outreach and community education, thus improving screening rates and early prenatal care entry.
- Ability to remain calm in high stress situations
- Work collaboratively in a group setting
- Fast decision making, especially in an emergency situation if arises
- Scope of practice must include:
- Abnormal vaginal/uterine bleeding work up
- Menopause
- STI screening and treatment, including PrEp/PeP
- UTI screening and treatment
- PCOS (teens & adults)
- Family planning & Fertility advice
- Breast abnormalities
Additional Duties
- Project support surround OB/GYN care including teaching and training
- Administrative tasks include working directly with CPSP
- Collaborate with quality control around women's health initiatives
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Certified Nurse Midwife program.
- Board certification by American College of Nurse Midwives.
- Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of California issued by the BRN.
- Current Nurse-Midwife license to practice in the State of California issued by the BRN.
- Current DEA, BLS and AMCB certificate.
- 2 years of experience with the ability to
- work independently with little to no supervision, providing patient care in providing a safe environment.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and remain calm
- Interpersonal skills to develop professional relationships with patients
