Position Details:
- Location : Pelzer, S.C.
- Shifts : Day Shift Monday - Friday 7a to 3p.
Responsibilities:
- As a Correctional Nurse, you will deliver direct and individualized nursing care within the Correctional Facility. In addition to general nursing duties, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with primary care providers and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity, timeliness, and appropriateness of care for patients.
- Coordinating and administering medication, therapeutic agents, and treatments to patients.
- Assisting physicians with medical treatments and procedures.
- Applying surgical dressings and bandages.
- Providing emergency first aid care.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs.
- Collecting specimens from patients for diagnostic testing.
- Reporting reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in the patients mental, emotional or physical condition.
- Providing patient education and discharge planning.
- Recording all care information accurately and concisely, in a timely manner and in the appropriate format and forms.
- Promoting a therapeutic environment that upholds professional, ethical, and tactful care for patients.
- Performing other duties as assigned, based on the assignment setting.
Requirements:
- Current State License.
- Current PPD or Chest X-ray.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Strong cognitive abilities relevant to the position.
- Effective communication skills to elicit and provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and clients.
- Proficiency in the English language.
