Certified Medical Assistant - Team Care - Southcoast Health

We are searching for a Medical Assistant – Team Care to perform a wide range of administrative and clinical duties within the medical assistant scope of practice. Assist the provider inside and outside the exam room of a medical office setting. Measure vital signs, collect other patient-related data through questionnaires and other tools, and enter into electronic health record (EHR). Scribe the provider’s documentation into the EHR accurately and efficiently. Assist the provider with various treatments/procedures in the examination room and act on orders within scope of practice.  Lead by example and train other Medical Assistants.

**$1,500 New Hire Sign On Bonus in this position** If a rehire – must have been gone from the organization for 1yr in order to be eligible

• Hours: 40hrs
• Shift:  Day shift; Mon,Tue,Wed 9am-5:30pm, Thursday 10am-6:30pm and Friday 8:30am-5pm. (May need to be flexible at times based on provider needs)
• Location:  Primary Care – Westport, MA

 
Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program and national third-party certification such as AMCA, AAMA, AMT, CCMA (NHA certification or NCMA (NCCT certification) is required at the time of hire.
• Completion of team care model training provided during orientation is required within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification is required.
• Prior experience using an EHR and/or health-related computer software is preferred.
• Three (3) years of medical assistant work is required.
• Fluency in a language other than English and Medical Interpreting is desirable.
• Other certifications, based on practice specialty may be preferred.
• Experience interacting with patients and their families, attention to detail, ability to stay focused, responsible and organized is required.
• Certification required
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
