Who You Are:As a Certified Medical Assistant at knownwell, you will play a vital role in the patient care process by assisting in various clinical and administrative tasks. Your role is crucial in creating a positive patient experience and supporting our healthcare providers in delivering outstanding care.
What You'll Do:- Perform clinic opening and closing tasks. Complete exam room and supply closet inventory as assigned.
- Check patients in and out as assigned, ensure patient information on file is correct and that their insurance is listed and up to date. Run insurance eligibility as necessary. Collect visit co-payments.
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, complete chart review. Complete requested point of care testing (POC) as ordered by the patient’s clinician. POC testing includes EKG, urinalysis, rapid strep, rapid flu, A1C, etc.
- Work with referral coordinators to arrange outgoing referrals and diagnostic testing appointments.
- Work with prior authorization coordinators to ensure patients can obtain their medications in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate patient care with clinic providers and assist with medication refills, patient portal messaging and lab results. Work with your provider and practice manager to create/update standard operating procedures to ensure clinic efficiency.
- Aid patients with scheduling tests and procedures. Manage cancelled appointments and reminder notices as necessary.
- Prepare, process, and manage incoming patient documentation in the electronic medical record. (ex: faxed report results, labs, etc., medical records, etc.
- Register new patients and perform insurance verification checks. Schedule follow-ups as needed.
- Assist with answering inbound phone calls and voicemail follow-up if necessary.
- 1-2 years of previous experience in a health care setting required.
- Experience in Internal Medicine or Obesity Medicine preferred.
- Medical Assistant Certification Required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Pay range per hour: $20. to $25. depending on experience.
