Certified Medical Assistant - Scottsdale Perinatal LLC

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a Physician. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive patient care and ensuring smooth office operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary physical tests such as taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history.
• Assist physicians during examinations.
• Draw blood and collect/prepare laboratory specimens.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician.
• Authorize prescription refills as directed by the physician.
• Contact patients regarding lab results.
• Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records.
• Perform diagnostic and procedure coding.
• Ensure exam rooms are neat, orderly, and fully stocked.
• Place patients on Non-Stress Test (NST) equipment and monitor progress.
• Perform telephone triage based on knowledge and physician-set guidelines.

Other Responsibilities:

• Schedule appointments and assist with patient follow-ups.
• Manage inventory and communicate supply needs to the Lead Medical Assistant.

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Minimum of two years of experience in the healthcare industry.
• Medical Assistant certification or commitment to obtain certification within six months of hire.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Knowledge of medical procedures, coding, and patient confidentiality laws (HIPAA).
• Influenza (provided by practice) and COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are required.
