*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring the highest level of patient care. This position is vital in a fast-paced environment, particularly within a Level II Trauma Center, where the ability to perform efficiently under pressure is essential.
*Duties*
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and maintain accurate medication records.
- Prepare patients for medical procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort.
- Support urgent care operations by triaging patients and managing intake processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with nursing staff in medical-surgical units and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) settings.
- Demonstrate knowledge of physiology to assist in patient assessments and care planning.
*Qualifications*
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or urgent care setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in medication administration and understanding of related protocols.
- Strong knowledge of vital signs measurement techniques.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while providing patient care.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient interactions.
