Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will be responsible for providing support to the Lung Transplant Program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for EPIC order entries
- Complete patient medication reconciliation and refill requests in EPIC for verification by providers
- Communicate pre-procedure (Bronchoscopy) instructions to patients
- Collect and record pharmacy information in EPIC
- Perform insurance eligibility and verification as needed
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications as requested
- Maintain accurate recording of all patient contact in the EMR (EPIC)
- Encourage Patient Portal usage
- Answer telephone, take and relay messages to appropriate staff and/or routes calls appropriately
- Types a variety of routine material such as correspondence, which may be of a complex and/or confidential nature.
- Conforms to all applicable HIPAA, billing compliance, and safety guidelines
- Maintains a cooperative and professional relationship with providers, patients, other staff, and coworkers
- Provide cross coverage as needed
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma Required
- College education or trade school preferred
- Certification as Medical Assistant is required; must be nationally certified or registered
- Basic proficiency in computer skills
- Prior EMR/EPIC experience preferred
Hourly Rate Ranges: $21.00 - $33.17
Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
