We have multiple Medical Assistant positions open.
Administrative Medical Assistant - Primarily spend their time assisting the nurses with clinically administrative tasks, such as medication authorizations, completion of FMLA, Disability, Motor Vehicle paperwork, new medication start forms, patient education both in office and over the phone, speaking with patients and family over the phone to properly assist them with their needs, communicating with providers to best assist the patient, etc.
Clinical Medical Assistant - Primarily focus on the rooming of in office patients, completing intake, documenting charts, barcoding and scanning of documents into patient charts, assisting the providers with their daily schedules, maintaining exam rooms throughout the day, restocking exam rooms at the end of the day, etc.
Traveling Medical Assistant - This MA will travel to all of our offices (Huber Heights, Vandalia, Beavercreek, Eaton, Centerville) to support the provider at that location. They will perform the same functions as the Clinical medical Assistant in addition to the Check in/out function at the satellite locations. This person must be able to work independently.
MEDICAL ASSISTANT GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report’s absences/personal appointments/time off 2 days in advance to the manager in writing.
- Able to understand and follow DCND policies and procedures as directed by management.
- Understands basic job functions and its policies and procedures.
- Understands and can navigate the DCND website and patient portal.
- Responsible for helping to achieve Meaningful Use guidelines
- Understands/assists each DCND physician when needed in a professional manner.
- Able to work independently and as a team in a professional and respectful manner.
- Understands the medical field/HIPAA/ OSHA laws
- Attends all mandatory EMR, OSHA, NCQA, PQRS, HIPAA, CPR training session. If not able to attend, understands that it will be made up on own time.
- Able to answer questions regarding medical records policies/fees/ paperwork processing turnaround time/upload historic documents into the DCND EMR system
- Able to check in and check out patients appropriately and collect co-pays.
- Able to travel to other locations as needed.
- If traveling, collect all legal documents needed to treat or speak to patients/caregivers/providers.
- Ready to work at agreed upon start time with a 30-minute lunch. MA runners/travelers will start 15 minutes prior to physician schedule and will stay until the last patient LEAVES. MA’s will alter their schedules to reduce OT if able. (unless another schedule is agreed upon with the manager.) MA’s must know how to open and close offices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to answer clinical phone line as outlined by office policy.
- Able to create detailed correspondence and documentation (i.e., patient cases) for all patients/caregivers/ providers.
- Able to complete prior authorizations on medications and imaging as outlined by office policy.
- Able to complete Chart prep for upcoming appointments as outlined by office policy.
- Able to complete BMV, FMLA, Disability paperwork as outlined by office policy.
- Complete tasks delegated from nurses timely.
- Bar-coding and filing paperwork/faxing paperwork into the DCND EMR system timely.
- Organize incoming mail and distribute to appropriate physician.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
- 1 year phone triage experience
- 1 year medication prior authorization experience
- 1-year medical office experience
