Position Name: Medical assistant

Contract Duration: 13-Weeks

Job Location: Brooklyn, NY

Shift: Days (M-F 5*8)

Pay: $23-$25/hr

Manager’s note:

M-F 9a-5p. HS diploma/GED (R). Certification as a Medical Assistant (P). Completion of MA program (R). Phlebotomy experience (R). Computer literacy (R). Guaranteed hrs 37.5/week

Job Duties:

1. Enters orders into the electronic medical record (EMR) system or prepares prescription refill requests on behalf of the physician for the review and approval by the ordering physician.

1. Inventories, orders, or re-stocks medical supplies as applicable.

1. Provides set-up of examination room and instruments by proper sterilization techniques established by hospital and infection control policies.

1. Maintains logging system as required for refrigeration of medications, point of care testing, sterilization process, crash cart, point of care testing or others as needed.

1. Check expiration dates on all medications and medical supplies disposing appropriately as per institution policy.

• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.

Education:

Required Education:

-High School diploma or equivalent such as a GED.

Preferred Education:

-Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

-AHA BLS

One of the following:

-CMA-NHA (National Healthcare Association)

-CMA-NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing)

-CMA-AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)

-RMA-AMT (American Medical Technologists)

-RMA-NAHP (National Association for Health Professionals)

-AMCA (American Medical Certification Association)

-NCMA (National Certification Medical Association)
