Our beautiful, 99 bed facility located in Northern California is seeking an applicant to act in a supervisory role amongst our dietary department who will work in conjunction with the Registered Dietitian to ensure our residents are extended the best dining experience possible, while meeting their nutritional needs. The ideal candidate will have worked in the kitchen of a skilled nursing facility before and preferably has a history of staff oversite, knowledge of dietary regulations in the long term care demographic, can schedule staff, has acted in the capacity of a cook and aide, and can coach the staff they oversee accordingly. On call availability and weekend availability is necessary. Come grow in your role within the medical community with us!
In order to be a good, effective Dietary Manager, you should possess the following skills:
- Good decision making and judgment capabilities
- The ability to instruct others
- The ability to plan, inventory and purchase food items for the facility menu
- Implementation of and management of kitchen staff schedule (coverage of shift vacancies as needed)
- The ability to identify and solve complex problems
- Being socially perceptive; that is, aware of the reactions of others and understanding those reactions
- Good reading comprehension skills
- Good coordination skills and the ability to adjust one’s actions in relation to others’ actions
- Effective logic, reasoning and critical thinking skills
- Effective writing skills
- Effective speaking skills
