Central Supply - Southwestern Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

A Skilled Nursing Home is looking to hire an experienced Central Supply Specialist to administer the distribution and inventory of resident care supplies in accordance with facility policies and regulations.

The Job Responsibilities:

Inventory and monitor central supply levels; work with management to analyze supply usage and determine target inventory level and reorder points. Order, receive and restock in accordance with procedures; secure emergency or critical items; monitor cost and maintain related records. Reconcile input at end of month to invoice and ensure appropriate markup

Inventory and stock supplies maintained at nurses station in supply points; record inventory and cost data and provide data to the business office and/or input in to the computer.

Distribute appropriate supplies

Maintain a safe and orderly work area; and conduct label reconciliation

Assist with Nursing Department activities to include administrative support; assisting residents, families and visitors, and running errands to include travel to supply sources

May be requested to fill in for receptionist at different times

May be requested to orientate newly hired staff to main medical supply room, as well as stock rooms and clean utility rooms on each floor

The Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred

Previous long-term care experience desired. Must be knowledgably of medical equipment used in the long-term care setting

Computer knowledge required

A physical examination and/or evidence from a physician indicating freedom of communicable disease to be available upon employment

Ability to work independently or part of a group

Effectively communicate with others
