Summary
The Central Purchasing Agent coordinates and procures Wood Doors for assigned locations. The role ensures proper execution of inventory control procedures and strives to achieve optimized inventory levels. The agent projects future usage changes and understands their impact, coordinating with internal and external customers regarding material orders and delivery dates.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma Required
5 - 10 years in an operational staff position required
Must have extensive door and hardware application knowledge.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Experience using WD Manufacturing Online systems (VT Online, Eggers Online, DoorBuilder).
Ability to fill out machining sheets and understand manufacturing-specific preparations.
Familiarity with industry-specific ERP software.
Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills.
Essential Functions
Monitor Wood Door manufacturing lead times for potential purchasing conflicts.
Review vendor quotes, project specifications, and notes from Sales/Project Managers.
Identify alternate sourcing opportunities for cost savings, improved lead times, and/or quality enhancements.
Create purchase orders using the ERP system and online platforms, including machining sheets.
Review and verify acknowledgment details, costs, and expected delivery.
Enter all order acknowledgments, adjusted costs, and delivery dates into the ERP system.
Promptly answer manufacturer questions.
Source or alternate source materials from stock as needed.
Ensure strategic vendor support and alignment for assigned products.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally. The employee must frequently stand, walk, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and the use of various tools and hardware.
